DeGrom Controls the Game
Jacob deGrom was the standout performer on Tuesday, delivering a masterful pitching display that anchored the Texas Rangers' offense. The right-hander worked seven scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while walking zero batters and striking out eight Oakland Athletics. His command was evident throughout his outing, culminating in his tenth win of the season.
DeGrom’s efficiency allowed the Rangers’ bullpen to preserve the lead with ease. Robby Ahlstrom followed with a perfect inning of relief, recording two strikeouts without allowing a hit or walk. Ben Peoples closed out the game by pitching one inning, surrendering two hits and one earned run but securing the final outs for his team.
Rangers Offense Explodes Early
The Texas Rangers’ bats came alive in the second inning against Athletics starter Gage Jump. Jump struggled from the start, giving up six hits and seven earned runs over 4.1 innings before being pulled with a loss that dropped his record to 6-9.
The scoring began when Nimmo scored on a groundout by Díaz. Freeman then singled to center field, bringing Burger home for a 2-0 lead. The damage continued in the third inning as Nimmo’s single allowed Seager to score. In the fourth, Foscue drove in another run with a home run to left-center field.
The fifth inning proved decisive for the Rangers. Nimmo hit a sacrifice fly to bring Duran home, followed by Burger’s single that scored Seager. Carter then grounded into a fielder's choice, allowing Langford to score and extend the lead to 7-0.
