The Houston Texans are set to employ a shared backfield strategy featuring David Montgomery and Woody Marks for the upcoming season. According to Jonathan Alexander of the Houston Chronicle, while the exact distribution of carries may not be equal, both players are expected to see significant action during training camp.

The Texans are likely to implement a hot-hand approach, adjusting their backfield usage based on player performance each week. In the team's second preseason game, Marks showcased his skills by rushing four times for 37 yards and scoring a touchdown, in addition to making a six-yard catch while playing with the first-team offense, as Montgomery rested.

In fantasy football circles, Marks is being drafted nearly five rounds later than Montgomery, reflecting a notable difference in how the two players are valued. As the season approaches, further clarity on their respective roles is anticipated.
