The Houston Texans have added cornerback Bryce Hall to their roster, a move aimed at strengthening the team ahead of a preseason matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. General manager Nick Caserio confirmed the signing on August 17, shortly after Hall completed a workout with the team.
Hall, who is 28 years old, has previously played for the New York Jets and most recently for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was selected in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, coming in at 158th overall. Over the course of his career, Hall has participated in 40 games, starting 26 of them.
He has recorded a total of 122 tackles, two interceptions, one fumble recovery, one defensive touchdown, and half a sack. Standing at 6-foot-1, he brings versatility and is expected to help improve the Texans' special teams.
The Texans are currently dealing with injuries in their secondary, with several players, including Tank Dell and Brevin Jordan, sidelined due to various issues. These injuries could have a notable effect on the team's special teams, making Hall's signing particularly timely as he looks to provide depth and experience. Updates regarding the Texans' roster and injury conditions are expected as the preseason continues.
