George Klassen secured his first Major League win for the Los Angeles Angels, pitching six innings of solid baseball. He surrendered two earned runs and five hits while walking one batter and striking out five. Blake Weiman and Ryan Watson each contributed scoreless relief, combining to pitch 1 2/3 innings with no walks and two strikeouts.
Mike Trout was the offensive catalyst for Anaheim, recording two singles in center field. His first hit in the third inning scored Adolis Garcia, and his second single in the sixth inning brought Jose Peraza home. Trout also reached base via a walk in the second inning, setting up the Angels' first run.
Game Progression
The Rangers took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning when Andrew Heaney walked, loading the bases before Corey Seager homered to right field in the third to make it 2-0. However, the Angels responded immediately in the bottom of the third as Trout’s single plated Garcia.
The sixth inning proved pivotal for Los Angeles. Steven Siri doubled to left, scoring Jake Burger. Siri then scored on a sacrifice bunt by Adolis Garcia, who advanced to second. Trout’s subsequent single brought Peraza home, giving the Angels a 4-2 lead. In the seventh, Marcus Frazier reached on an infield single, allowing Isiah Kiner-Falefa to score, extending the advantage to 5-2.
