Burger Drives in Key Runs
Jake Burger delivered the offensive spark the Texas Rangers needed on Saturday, contributing three runs batted in to lead Arlington to a 5-4 win against the Seattle Mariners. Burger’s impact came through both power and contact, including a two-run home run in the fourth inning that shifted the momentum in favor of the home team.
Burger opened the scoring surge in the fourth with a 362-foot homer to right field, putting the Rangers ahead 3-1. He later added insurance in the sixth inning by singling to center field, which allowed Josh Nimmo to cross the plate. Burger advanced to second base on the play, setting up the game-winning run later in the frame.
Mariners Fight Back
Seattle had taken an early lead in the first inning when Luke Travers homered to left field, a 384-foot shot that gave the visitors a 1-0 advantage. The Mariners tied the game in the second inning when Wyatt Langford singled to right, driving in Nathaniel Lowe.
Seattle regained the lead in the fifth inning when Luis Robert Jr. doubled to center field, scoring two runs and making it 3-2. The Mariners extended their advantage in the sixth when Josh Smith singled, allowing Adolis García to score, followed by a sacrifice bunt that brought in the go-ahead run, making the score 5-3 in favor of Seattle.
