The TCU Horned Frogs will face the Northwestern State Demons in a football game on September 2, 2028, at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. TCU has agreed to a $600,000 guarantee for Northwestern State's participation in the matchup, according to a contract obtained through public records.

This will be the second time the two teams meet on the football field, following their first encounter in 2001, when the Demons triumphed over the Horned Frogs with a score of 27-24 in overtime. Northwestern State University, located in Natchitoches, Louisiana, is a member of the Southland Conference and competes in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).

Currently, the Demons are under the leadership of head coach Blaine McCorkle and have experienced two losses at the start of their season against Louisiana Christian and Louisiana Tech.

The addition of this game rounds out TCU's non-conference schedule for the 2028 season. Before taking on Northwestern State, TCU will begin their season at home against Louisiana on August 26 and will travel to face Duke on September 9.

The Big 12 Conference has not yet revealed the specific conference opponents for that season, but TCU is projected to have five home games and four road games. Northwestern State is also set to host Central Arkansas on September 16, 2028.
