The North Texas Irish Festival will shift its 2027 event from Dallas to Denton after more than four decades at Fair Park, organizers announced in a statement shared Aug. 6.
The festival is scheduled for March 13 and 14 at the North Texas Fairgrounds. The event is produced by the Southwest Celtic Music Association, and organizers said Denton’s arts and music scene was part of the reason for selecting the new location.
Denton Mayor Chris Watts welcomed the move in the announcement. "We're honored that the North Texas Irish Festival has chosen Denton as its new home. This move reflects our city's commitment and reputation as a premier destination for arts, culture and community events," Watts said in the statement.
"We look forward to welcoming visitors and introducing them to the energy, hospitality and character that makes Denton unlike anywhere else."
Organizers said the festival’s purpose will continue to focus on Irish and Celtic traditions, including music, dance, stories, food, art and education. The 2027 event is expected to feature several live Celtic music stages, Irish step dancing, cultural presentations, storytelling, vendors, food and drinks, children’s activities and experiences tied to Ireland and other Celtic nations.
