Denton police are searching for three individuals following a nighttime vehicle pursuit that concluded with a collision in a residential neighborhood. The incident occurred near the intersection of Stonegate Drive and Longridge Drive on Thursday.
According to a department report, an officer initiated the stop attempt around 12:46 a.m. after observing a passenger leaning out of a moving vehicle's window while it traveled at high speed. The driver was reportedly weaving between lanes and ignored the officer's lights and sirens. At one point during the chase, the vehicle crossed into the wrong side of the road.
The pursuit moved from the Interstate 35E service road, where the vehicle was traveling southbound, into a nearby residential area. There, the car crashed at a low speed into an unoccupied parked vehicle. The three occupants immediately exited the car and ran away on foot.
Authorities have not yet located the suspects. Department spokesperson Amy Cunningham stated that arrest warrants will be issued for all three individuals once they are identified. The investigation remains active.
