The department’s weekly summary highlighted several distinct incidents, ranging from a deceased person found in a park to a driver who fled a traffic stop.
On August 27, officers responded to a report at 3300 Fallmeadow Street involving a food delivery dispute. A woman told police she had to physically block a delivery driver from entering her apartment to retrieve an order. The incident was logged as criminal trespass of a habitation and assault.
Earlier in the week, on August 25, officers were called to a wooded area near Mack Park at 2000 E McKinney Street. A passerby reported finding a deceased man beyond a trail leading from the park. Police classified the event as a deceased person report.
A significant arrest occurred on August 29 at the intersection of Lillian Miller Parkway and Teasley Lane. Officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the 2200 block of South Loop 288 around 8:19 p.m. after observing the driver using a phone while operating the car.
The report states the vehicle continued driving southbound for more than six minutes, passing multiple locations where it could have safely stopped. The driver eventually pulled over in the 8200 block of Montecito Drive, approximately 3.6 miles from the initial stop point.
