The city of Denton has announced that its three public library branches will temporarily close during August to accommodate necessary maintenance work and staff training sessions. The closures are scheduled for specific dates at each location.

The North Branch Library will be fully closed for the entire day on August 7. The South Branch Library is scheduled to close for half a day on August 14. The Emily Fowler Library will also close for half a day, but on August 21.

Despite the closures, the city noted that patrons can still return books to any of the library locations. Additionally, library cards will remain valid for use at the two branches that are open on any given closure day.

The Denton Record-Chronicle reported the schedule details via a city news release. Further information regarding the specific nature of the maintenance or training activities was not provided in the initial announcement.
