A Krum ISD student was killed after a vehicle crashed Wednesday afternoon in Denton, police said.
The car was headed east on FM 1173 in the direction of Interstate 35 when the crash occurred, according to police. Three teenagers were transported to a hospital after the wreck.
One teenage boy died from his injuries. Police said the teenage girl who was driving had serious injuries and remained hospitalized, while another teenage girl received treatment and was later released.
Krum ISD said in a statement that the district was grieving the student's death and asked the community to give the family privacy. The district also said, "We will continue to support our students and staff in the days ahead with compassion, care, and available counseling resources."
Police said the cause of the crash is still being investigated. Further details were not provided.
