Co-creator Mike Judge has acknowledged Richardson as the inspiration for Arlen, having lived there in the 1990s while developing the show. Although Arlen is a composite of various Dallas-area suburbs, the essence of Richardson is evident in its wide streets and suburban pride.
This season features the University of Texas at Dallas, located in Richardson, showcasing elements like the campus mascot Temoc. Other North Texas landmarks, including Big Tex at the State Fair of Texas and Whataburger, also make appearances.
The storyline follows Hank and Peggy as they navigate retirement, while their son Bobby, now an adult, runs a fusion restaurant in Dallas and aims for a spot on a cooking reality show.
The voice cast includes returning members such as Mike Judge and Kathy Najimy, and the show continues to reflect local culture through its fictional institutions named after Dallas Cowboys legends.
