The Dallas Cowboys are set to begin their 2026 training camp in Oxnard, California, with team activities starting on July 27 and fan practices commencing on July 29. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Cowboys training camp in Oxnard.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer, in his second season, will hold a press conference on July 29 alongside owner Jerry Jones and executive vice president Stephen Jones. The camp will kick off with the annual Back Together Saturday event on August 1, and practices will be open to the public until August 18.
A major focus for the Cowboys this camp will be their defense, which struggled last season, allowing an average of 30 points per game—the worst in the league. The team has appointed Christian Parker as the new defensive coordinator, who is implementing a 3-4 scheme. Reports indicate that as many as seven new starters could take the field on defense.
In contrast, the offense remains mostly unchanged, having averaged 27.7 points per game last season, providing Schottenheimer with a stable lineup as the defense undergoes significant adjustments.
