Williams was not dressed for the season opener against Missouri State, joining safety Tawfiq Byard on the sidelines. His injury is part of a troubling trend for the Aggies, as he becomes the third wide receiver unavailable before the season begins.
Earlier in fall camp, Jonah Wilson left the roster after transferring from Houston, while Jerome Myles, a former five-star recruit, was also removed from the program due to personal reasons after missing the entire 2025 season with an injury.
In the absence of Williams, Texas A&M will depend on its remaining wide receivers, including Mario Craver, Isaiah Horton, and Ashton Bethel-Roman. True freshman Aaron Gregory made a notable contribution during the opener, scoring a 15-yard touchdown and totaling two receptions for 22 yards.
Kelshaun Johnson and TK Norman will also see increased opportunities, with Johnson catching three passes for 25 yards in the game against Missouri State. The team plans to finalize its wide receiver depth chart over the next two games before facing LSU in Baton Rouge.
