Lee's two homers help Giants beat Rangers 5-1 at Globe Life Field

Lee homered twice and added a sacrifice fly as the San Francisco Giants beat the Texas Rangers 5-1 on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Both home runs went to right center: a 410-foot drive in the third inning and a 385-foot shot in the eighth. Lee also hit a sacrifice fly to center in the ninth, scoring McCray.

The Giants paired that production with 6.0 scoreless innings from Logan Webb, who allowed five hits, walked one and struck out eight. Webb earned the win and moved to 7-7.

Giants build the lead

San Francisco opened the scoring in the top of the second. Gilbert singled to right, and Susac scored on a fielding error by right fielder Nimmo as Gilbert advanced to third. Basabe followed with a sacrifice fly to right that scored Gilbert, giving the Giants a 2-0 lead.

Lee made it 3-0 in the third with his first home run of the game. The score remained there until the eighth, when Lee’s second homer pushed San Francisco’s lead to 4-0.

Pitching lines shape the game

Keaton Winn added 0.2 inning for San Francisco, allowing one hit with no walks and one strikeout. Sam Hentges recorded 1.1 hitless innings, allowing one walk and striking out one. Tristan Beck worked 0.1 inning, allowing one hit, one earned run and one walk. Reiver Sanmartin pitched 0.2 inning without allowing a hit or a walk.

For Texas, Cal Quantrill took the loss and fell to 4-4. He worked 6.0 innings, allowing four hits, one earned run and one walk while striking out four. Ben Peoples pitched 1.0 inning with no hits, one walk and one strikeout.

Peyton Gray allowed one hit, one earned run and one walk in 1.0 inning. Nolan Kingham allowed one hit, one earned run and two walks while striking out one in 1.0 inning.

Rangers get one in the ninth

San Francisco extended the lead to 5-0 in the ninth when McCray scored on Lee’s sacrifice fly. Texas scored its run in the bottom of the ninth on Duran’s 406-foot homer to left. It was one of exactly three home runs in the game, with Lee accounting for the other two.

The announced attendance was 23,736. The Rangers are 55-58 after the loss, and the Giants are 48-65 after the win.
