Peters, Doyle Power White Sox Past Rangers in 10-4 Victory

Offensive Surge Continues

Tristan Peters continued his remarkable stretch at the plate, launching his fifth consecutive home run to help the Chicago White Sox secure a 10-4 victory over the Texas Rangers on Wednesday. The win improved Chicago’s record to 70-63, while Texas dropped to 66-68.

Peters’ long ball in the fifth inning proved pivotal. With two runners on base, he connected for a 362-foot shot to right field, driving in Rogers and extending the White Sox lead. This marked his fifth straight game with a homer, adding another chapter to his recent offensive dominance.

Rangers Strike Early

The Texas Rangers jumped out to an early advantage in the second inning. Bo Montgomery doubled to right field, allowing Meidroth to score. Doyle followed with a single to left, scoring Montgomery as he stretched for second base. The Rangers held a 2-0 lead until the third inning.

In the bottom of the third, the White Sox answered back. Pete Alonso homered to right-center field (394 feet), scoring Freeman and tying the game at 2-2. The momentum shifted as Chicago took control in the fourth. Vargas reached on an infield single to second, scoring Peters, followed by Antonacci’s single to left that brought Vargas home.

Extended Lead

Chicago pulled away in the fifth when Peters’ homer made it 6-2. The White Sox continued their offensive pressure in the sixth inning. Antonacci singled to left again, driving in Vargas for a 7-2 advantage. Shortly after, Doyle homered to left-center field (393 feet), scoring Murakami and Montgomery in a three-run explosion that made it 10-2.

The Rangers managed to score in the seventh inning when Duran singled to center, bringing Langford and Nimmo home to make the final score 10-4. However, the deficit was too large for Texas to overcome.

Pitching Performances

Sean Newcomb earned the win for Chicago, pitching three scoreless innings with one hit allowed and no walks. Jonathan Cannon secured the save with three innings of work, striking out four batters while allowing two earned runs. Sean Burke took the loss after giving up four earned runs in 3.2 innings.

For Texas, MacKenzie Gore started but struggled, surrendering eight hits and four earned runs across 3.2 innings. Chase Silseth and Robby Ahlstrom each pitched one inning, with Ahlstrom allowing five earned runs in his appearance. Peyton Gray and Jakob Junis closed out the game, combining for two scoreless innings.

The game was played at Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois, before a crowd of 16,038.
