Alex Bregman delivered the decisive blow for the visiting Chicago White Sox, driving in three runs with a double to right field in the fifth inning. His hit broke a 2-2 tie and provided the offensive spark that allowed Chicago to pull away from the Texas Rangers. Benintendi’s blast, which measured 423 feet, was the only home run for the White Sox in the contest.
Game Progression
The White Sox took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Pederson homered to right center. Texas responded in the bottom of the second, with Carter singling to right to score Duran, making it 1-1 before the White Sox reclaimed the lead 2-1 on a Vargas double in the third.
Antonacci added another run in the fifth with a center-field single, but the Rangers tied the game again at 2-2 when Burger homered to left center in the seventh.
The game turned decisively in the ninth inning. After Vargas doubled to left to make it 5-3, Acuña singled to right, scoring two more runs to push the lead to 7-3. Grichuk followed with a triple to left, extending the advantage to 8-3.
B. Montgomery doubled to left, scoring Grichuk for a 9-3 lead, and Benintendi’s earlier double had already put three runners across, finalizing the 10-3 score.
