Bradford opens the shutout
Cody Bradford set the pace for Texas with 4 1/3 scoreless innings, and the Rangers beat the San Francisco Giants 6-0 on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
Bradford allowed five hits and two walks while striking out five. Texas followed with four relievers who kept San Francisco off the scoreboard the rest of the way.
Tyler Alexander earned the win, improving to 2-2, after pitching 1 2/3 innings with no hits, no walks and three strikeouts. Robby Ahlstrom gave up one hit and struck out one in one inning. Chase Silseth allowed one hit and one walk with one strikeout in one inning. Cole Winn worked one inning, allowing one hit with no walks and no strikeouts.
Texas breaks through in the third
The Rangers did all the scoring they needed in the bottom of the third, when they put together a four-run inning against San Francisco.
Nimmo singled to right to bring in Langford for a 1-0 Texas lead. Foscue followed with a triple to left, scoring Nimmo and Burger to make it 3-0. Díaz then doubled to left, bringing home Foscue and extending the lead to 4-0.
Carson Whisenhunt took the loss for San Francisco, falling to 2-3. He allowed four earned runs on five hits and three walks in 3 1/3 innings, with four strikeouts.
