Duran supplies the key swings
Ezequiel Duran drove in four of Texas’ five runs, including the final run in the ninth inning, as the Rangers beat the San Francisco Giants 5-4 on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
Duran delivered three run-scoring hits for Texas. He singled in the first inning, doubled in the eighth and hit a ground rule double in the ninth. The last of those scored Burger and gave the Rangers the final margin.
Texas builds the first lead
Texas scored twice in the bottom of the first inning. Nimmo doubled to right, bringing in Pederson and moving Seager to third for a 1-0 lead. Duran followed with a single to right that scored Seager and sent Nimmo to third, making it 2-0.
MacKenzie Gore kept San Francisco off the board through six innings. He allowed three hits, walked three and struck out four over six scoreless innings.
Blade Tidwell allowed two earned runs on six hits in five innings for San Francisco. He walked one and struck out three.
Giants answer before Texas responds
San Francisco tied the game in the top of the seventh. Basabe homered to left, a 377-foot shot that also scored Gilbert, making it 2-2. It was the only home run of the game.
