Baylor University has confirmed the signing of Gao Duanrui to its women's tennis roster for the 2026-27 season. Head coach Joey Scrivano noted Duanrui's strong work ethic, mental resilience, and commitment to growth as key attributes.
Originally from Tianjin, China, Duanrui has reached career-high rankings of No. 1,186 in singles and No. 1,435 in doubles on the WTA tour. Throughout her career, she has recorded 52 singles wins, including significant victories at the 2026 M15 Tianjin and the 2025 W15 Luan and Maanshan tournaments.
In doubles, she has advanced to the quarterfinals on five occasions, with notable performances at the 2026 W15 Tianjin and three draws at the 2025 W15 Luan, along with another quarterfinal finish at the 2025 W15 Maanshan.
The Baylor women's tennis team wrapped up the 2025 season with a No. 34 ranking in the ITA Year-End team standings, marking their 27th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and their 19th advancement to the second round. The season also included four All-Big 12 selections, three ranked wins, and two players qualifying for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
