The Houston Texans have announced the addition of running back Deuce Vaughn to their roster. Vaughn, who is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds, was previously on the practice squad of the Denver Broncos throughout the 2025 season after joining in September of the prior year.
He re-signed with Denver under a reserve/future contract in January but was released by the team in May. Following his departure, Vaughn played for the Orlando Storm in the UFL before making his return to the NFL with the Texans.
In a related move, the Texans waived wide receiver Juwann Winfree, who also had a previous stint with the Broncos. Additionally, the team held workouts with running back Blake Watson and former Denver receiver Josh Reynolds, as noted in the NFL's transaction wire.
Currently, four other players from the Broncos' practice squad remain free agents after their contracts ended in February. These include quarterback Ben DiNucci, tight ends Marcedes Lewis and Patrick Murtagh, along with defensive back Delarrin Turner-Yell. Meanwhile, defensive lineman Jonathan Harris has recently tried out for the Minnesota Vikings.
Details about Vaughn's expected role with the Texans or the future plans for Winfree have not been disclosed.
