A football player from Crandall High School was injured during practice on Wednesday and was subsequently transported by medical helicopter for treatment. The incident took place at the PIT, located in Crandall, a community in Kaufman County approximately 20 miles east of Dallas.

Crandall Independent School District (ISD) issued a notice on social media to inform the community about the helicopter landing near the baseball fields, which was necessary to facilitate the student's transport for advanced medical care. The district acknowledged that the presence of emergency vehicles and the helicopter might raise concerns and aimed to keep families updated on the situation.

In their statement, Crandall ISD also requested that the community respect the family's privacy during this time. "Our thoughts are with the student and the student's family," the district expressed. CBS News Texas will provide further updates as more details emerge.
