Baylor University quarterback DJ Lagway is currently considered day-to-day due to an ankle injury, as confirmed by head coach Dave Aranda. The team remains hopeful that Lagway will be fit to play against Prairie View A&M on Saturday.

Lagway suffered the injury during the Bears' close 17-16 loss to Auburn in their season opener. Despite the setback, he played the entire game, showcasing his leadership on offense, although his mobility was affected. In his first game for Baylor, Lagway completed 27 of 54 passes, totaling 333 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception.

He was instrumental in a late-game push, overcoming a 17-10 deficit with key plays, including a 28-yard pass to Gavin Freeman on a crucial fourth-and-10 and a 5-yard touchdown pass to Freeman with only 9 seconds left.

The team plans to provide further updates on Lagway's condition following practices on Tuesday and Wednesday as they continue to assess his recovery.
