Tayven Jackson has been appointed the starting quarterback for the North Texas Mean Green as they prepare to face Indiana University in their season opener on September 5, 2026.
Jackson, who previously played for the Hoosiers, has had a varied college football career. He saw limited action at Tennessee in 2022 and participated in 13 games for Indiana during the 2023-24 season, achieving a completion rate of 61.2% with six touchdowns and six interceptions.
In 2025, he transferred to the University of Central Florida (UCF), where he completed 63.5% of his passes for 2,151 yards, along with ten touchdowns and eight interceptions, contributing to the Knights' 5-7 record.
Before his college career, Jackson was a standout at Center Grove High School, where he threw for 4,813 yards and 47 touchdowns from 2018 to 2021, leading the team to an undefeated Class 6A championship.
Tayven Jackson is the brother of Trayce Jackson-Davis, who was named the 2019 Indiana Mr. Basketball and is currently in his fourth season with the Toronto Raptors.
