Multiple grass fires were reported on Wednesday afternoon along highway corridors in Dallas and Denton counties. The incidents occurred in separate locations, with one near Justin and another in Grand Prairie.
In Denton County, a fire broke out in a large field adjacent to Highway 114 near Justin. The Justin Fire Department indicated the blaze began around 3:30 p.m. following an accident involving a cement mixer. According to the department, part of the vehicle rolled onto the roadway during the incident. The fire consumed approximately five acres of land before crews contained it.
Shortly after the Justin incident, aerial footage from SKY 4 captured a second grass fire in Grand Prairie, located in Dallas County. Black smoke was observed rising from the area off Highway 161, just north of Interstate 30. The fire primarily spread through dense trees and brush in that vicinity.
