Aspen Healthcare has received the Best of Denton County 2026 award in two distinct categories: Home Health and Hospice. This marks the sixth year the North Texas-based organization has secured recognition in the annual community awards program. The selection process involves residents nominating local businesses across more than 400 categories, with the top contenders advancing to a final community vote.
Sukhu George, the company’s CEO, attributed the continued success to the organization’s long-term commitment to serving families in the region. He noted that these services are deeply personal, and that residents often recall specific interactions with nurses, therapists, and hospice teams during critical periods. George emphasized that the recognition reflects the work of the staff rather than the brand alone.
The company has been expanding its home-based care offerings, particularly through a growing palliative care program. George explained that this service addresses a gap for patients who require additional support at home but are not yet ready for hospice. Palliative care can be provided alongside curative treatments or when a prognosis is uncertain, allowing clinicians to manage symptoms and coordinate care in the patient’s residence.
Aspen Healthcare, founded in 2007 to serve the Dallas-Fort Worth area, offers a range of services including skilled nursing, rehabilitation, private-duty personal care, and interdisciplinary support for terminal illness. The organization operates in a competitive market, with over 200 Medicare-certified agencies located within 25 miles of Denton.
The county’s population has grown to more than 1.06 million, an increase of approximately 18% since 2020, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates.
