Social media activity has generated speculation about an Original Roy Hutchins Barbeque location in Denton after co-owner Wes Hutchins posted images labeled as future sites. The posts, appearing on Instagram and Facebook, included AI-generated renderings of the restaurant with text indicating a Denton opening in 2028.
However, the credibility of these announcements is questionable because Hutchins reused identical graphics for a different city earlier this year. On July 25, he posted the same image with the caption "Future Rockwall Texas," suggesting a late 2027 opening for that site. Neither post provided an exact address or confirmed timeline.
The Denton and Rockwall posts are part of a broader pattern of digital activity from Hutchins regarding his barbecue business. He has continued to share AI illustrations, including one with a neon sign displaying "BBO" instead of BBQ, which indicates the use of automated generation tools. He did not return a message left Sunday night regarding the Denton rumors.
Hutchins operates Original Roy Hutchins Barbeque locations in Trophy Club and Arlington. The company was formed after he split from his brothers, Tim and Trey Hutchins, over expansion strategies. The family dispute involved public criticism on social media, with Wes Hutchins accusing his siblings of greed before they eventually reconciled.
