The Denton Arts & Jazz Festival is relocating to the North Texas Fairgrounds for this weekend’s event, marking a change in venue and timing for the annual gathering. The three-day festival opens Friday and continues through Sunday, featuring performances across five stages that highlight jazz alongside blues, rock, and dance genres.
Admission to the event remains free, a policy supported by efforts to encourage attendees to purchase food and beverages from on-site vendors. Kevin Lechler, director of the Denton Festival Foundation, stated that the foundation is implementing creative shading solutions to address potential heat concerns at the fairgrounds location.
Parking is available in several lots surrounding the venue for a $15 fee. Lechler noted that this arrangement is expected to provide easier access compared to the festival’s previous downtown setting at Quakertown Park, which also included nearby neighborhood parking options.
The artist roster was revealed last month, with headliners including Tom Braxton and Lin Rountree performing on Friday. Grant Sabin takes the stage on Saturday afternoon, followed by Brave Combo for the Saturday night set.
Festival hours are scheduled from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. A complete schedule of performances is available on the Arts & Jazz website.
