The opening marks a significant expansion for the company's presence in the region, coinciding with its 35th anniversary in Mexico.
The new plant occupies 10,600 square meters and is designed to support the production ramp-up for current aerospace programs. It will also prepare for upcoming single-aisle aircraft models and contribute to new defense contracts. Additionally, the facility aims to strengthen the company's position in the advanced air mobility sector. Operations at the new site are scheduled to commence in November 2026.

The new plant is expected to generate more than 800 additional jobs. The campus supports major aerospace programs for several manufacturers, including Airbus, ATR, Boeing, Dassault Aviation, Embraer, Lockheed Martin, and Sikorsky. It also supports space and advanced air mobility programs involving Blue Origin and Wisk.
Safran highlighted the competitiveness of its Chihuahua operations, citing strong capabilities built on lean practices, industrial excellence, and digital continuity.
