Several new businesses have opened or announced changes in Denton, ranging from entertainment venues to medical facilities. The Pony, a family-owned hybrid music venue, pizza spot, and art bar, launched a soft opening on Sunday. Its official grand opening weekend is scheduled for Aug. 28-29. The establishment occupies the former Vinyl Lounge space on Russell Street between Hickory and Mulberry streets.
In other retail updates, Teaspoon opened a bubble tea shop in late July at Rayzor Ranch Town Center, located at 3400 N. Interstate 35, Suite 120. The California-based chain offers signature chai drinks, custom lemonades, and pastries. Additionally, the burger chain Shake Shack opened a new location earlier this month at The Shops at Highland Village, situated off Village Parkway near Justin Road.
Healthcare services have also expanded with Medical City Denton opening a $15 million inpatient rehabilitation unit. The facility provides care for adults recovering from stroke, neurological disorders, traumatic injuries, and other conditions requiring rehabilitation.
Other new additions include Beach Club Car Wash at 4722 FM720 in Cross Roads and Mo’ Bettahs Hawaiian food chain at 1228 FM407, Suite 130 in Argyle. The latter is the Utah-based company’s first Denton County location, specializing in plate lunches with options like teriyaki chicken or steak.
Some local establishments are undergoing changes. The Eagle Cawffee coffee cart inside Studio LaSalle on the Square has closed after two years. Co-owners Francisco Delgado and Alyson Flores plan to open a brick-and-mortar coffee shop at 119 Ave. A and a matcha bar called Malibu Matcha at 216 W. Mulberry St. in the coming months.
The pickleball facility at 719 S. I-35E near Teasley Lane, formerly known as Dinkers and ATP, is now called Club13 Pickleball Club. The Discover Denton Visitor Center has also relocated from the Square to 325 W. McKinney St., Suite 101.
