Adell’s Power Display

Adell was the primary catalyst for the Los Angeles Angels’ offensive explosion, delivering two home runs that helped dismantle the Texas Rangers’ pitching staff. The Angels’ victory was secured by a lopsided 13-1 final score at Globe Life Field on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

Adell’s first home run came in the fourth inning, a 359-foot blast to right field that extended the Angels’ lead to 3-0. He added to the deficit later in the fifth inning with a massive 433-foot home run to center field. That swing drove in three runs, turning a 4-0 advantage into a commanding 7-0 lead and effectively putting the game out of reach.

Angels’ Offensive Surge

The Angels’ scoring began early in the first inning when Grissom singled to left field, allowing Neto to score for the initial 1-0 advantage. The team continued to pile on runs in the fifth inning. Following Grissom’s single that scored Neto, Adell’s three-run homer shifted the momentum dramatically.

In the sixth inning, Grissom doubled to right field, bringing home Lowe and Neto to make the score 9-0. The Angels added two more runs in the eighth inning when Trout homered to left center, a 438-foot shot that scored Lowe and made it 11-0. The Rangers managed a single run in the eighth when Higashioka homered to left center, a 389-foot shot, bringing the score to 11-1.

The Angels capped their scoring in the ninth inning. Peraza hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Adell, and Siri singled to left, allowing Guzman to cross the plate for the final 13-1 tally.

Pitching Performances

Samy Natera Jr. earned the win for Los Angeles, pitching two innings of scoreless baseball with five strikeouts. Walbert Urena started for the Angels, working four innings and allowing one hit and no earned runs, despite walking five batters. Ryan Zeferjahn, Jose Fermin, and Mitch Farris completed the relief effort, with Zeferjahn and Farris each recording two strikeouts without allowing a run. Fermin allowed one earned run in his inning.

For the Rangers, starter MacKenzie Gore took the loss, falling to 5-8 on the season. Gore pitched five innings but gave up nine hits and seven earned runs, though he did strike out seven batters. Gavin Collyer, Ben Peoples, Robby Ahlstrom, and Kyle Higashioka relieved Gore, combining to allow six more runs. Higashioka also contributed at the plate with his home run.

Final Outcome

The Angels improved their record to 37-56, while the Rangers dropped to 46-46. The game drew an attendance of 23,288 spectators to Arlington, Texas.
