Greene’s Offensive Explosion
Riley Greene provided the decisive offensive spark for the Detroit Tigers, delivering a multi-hit performance that included both a home run and a triple. His contributions were instrumental in the Tigers securing a 6-3 victory over the Texas Rangers on Sunday at Globe Life Field. Greene’s power display helped shift the momentum of the game, allowing Detroit to build a lead that the Rangers could not overcome despite their own scoring efforts.
Key Scoring Plays
The scoring action began in the third inning when Burger launched a home run to left center, measuring 447 feet. This solo shot gave the Rangers an early 1-0 advantage. However, the Tigers responded quickly in the fourth inning. Greene homered to right field, a 431-foot shot, which also brought Carpenter home, turning the game into a 2-1 Detroit lead.
The fifth inning proved to be the turning point for the visitors. Dingler singled to center field, allowing Outman to score and making it 3-1. Following that play, a series of wild pitches by Rangers pitcher Robby Ahlstrom allowed McGonigle to score, extending the lead to 4-1. The inning continued to favor Detroit when Greene tripled to center field, driving in both Dingler and Carpenter to push the score to 6-1. The Rangers managed to add one run later in the fifth when Nimmo reached on an infield single to shortstop, allowing Lopez to score, making it 6-2.
