Osuna's Power Display
Emmanuel Osuna provided the decisive blow for the Texas Rangers, launching a three-run home run in the eighth inning to break a tie and secure an 8-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. The 364-foot shot to right field capped a five-run frame that overwhelmed Angels pitching, lifting the Rangers to their 46th win of the season.
The Rangers took an early lead in the first inning. Nelson Soler doubled to left field, driving in J.D. Schanuel to make it 1-0. Nathaniel Lowe followed with a single to center, scoring Soler to extend the advantage to 2-0. The Angels responded in the second inning when Luis Lopez singled to left, allowing Andrew Heaney and Osuna to score, tying the game at 2-2.
Pitching Performance
Jacob deGrom started for Texas, delivering a strong outing over five innings. He allowed two earned runs on five hits while striking out seven batters. Cole Winn entered in the sixth inning and retired the side in order, throwing a scoreless frame with no hits or walks. Chris Martin pitched the seventh, allowing one earned run on two hits.
For the Angels, Jose Soriano took the mound for six innings. He gave up two earned runs on two hits and struck out four. Tayler Saucedo pitched the sixth, allowing one earned run on two hits with two strikeouts. Sam Bachman struggled in relief, pitching two-thirds of an inning and surrendering five earned runs on six hits before being pulled. Brent Suter closed out the Angels' effort with a quick out in the ninth.
