Denison, Texas — A year after devastating floods impacted the Texas Hill Country, the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country has allocated approximately $82 million in aid to survivors throughout the region. The nonprofit, established in 1982 and based in Kerrville, initiated its relief fund on July 4, 2025, coinciding with the Guadalupe River flooding.
Donations exceeded $150 million, marking it as one of the most significant private disaster recovery initiatives in the state’s history.
According to CEO Austin Dickson, who personally experienced loss due to the floods, the anniversary is a time of reflection mixed with hope. The foundation acted swiftly to provide emergency assistance, housing repairs, and mental health services. Within 45 days post-disaster, $15 million was distributed to over 50 local nonprofits that offered direct financial aid and crisis support.
