In a recent volleyball match against TCU, Abby Vander Wal of the Texas Longhorns had to leave the game due to a knee injury. The incident took place during the opening set when she fell while scrambling on the left side of the court and remained on the ground, clearly in pain.
As she was unable to bear weight on her leg, training staff helped Vander Wal off the court. She did not return for the rest of the set, which the Longhorns won by sweeping TCU. Prior to her exit, Vander Wal had made two kills and her topspin serve was instrumental in starting two scoring runs for Texas.
Details on the extent of her injury are still pending as the situation develops.
