Jonathan Mark Fleming, 41, was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Richard Schell for a series of armed bank robberies across North Texas. Fleming pleaded guilty to the charges, which stemmed from incidents between November 2022 and February 2023 at three Denton County banks. During the heists, he wore an all-black outfit with ski goggles and a face mask while brandishing a firearm, ultimately stealing approximately $450,000.

Investigators traced the crimes to Fleming through his vehicle choices. After using a red Dodge Challenger for the first two robberies, he switched to a Dodge Ram TRX for the third. Dealership records revealed he traded in the Challenger for the truck using cash from the robberies. A subsequent search of his apartment uncovered the robbery gear, including the ski goggles and a gun belt, along with firearms, police scanners, and cash deposits matching the stolen amounts.

The case was part of Operation Take Back America, a Department of Justice initiative. The investigation involved the FBI and police departments from Denton, Lewisville, and Flower Mound.
