Denton, Texas — The trade can bring San Jose as much as $1 million in General Allocation Money: $700,000 is guaranteed and another $300,000 is tied to conditions, MLS and Field Level Media reported.

FC Dallas chief soccer officer André Zanotta said Daniel’s MLS experience will add competition in the goalkeeper group. Michael Collodi had started 13 matches this season and recorded three shutouts.

The San Jose Earthquakes have sent goalkeeper Daniel to FC Dallas, adding a veteran to the North Texas club’s roster for the remainder of the MLS campaign.

San Jose signed goalkeeper Angus Gunn before completing Daniel’s move to Dallas. The transaction is a roster development, not a game recap.

Toyota Stadium in Frisco is about 25 miles east of Denton, giving North Texas residents a nearby MLS club to follow.

Daniel, 32, took over as San Jose’s starter in 2023 and recorded 15 clean sheets over 86 appearances in all competitions, MLS reported. His U.S. green card means he does not occupy an international roster slot.
